Does anyone know where I can buy (mail order or the web)
some Uncle Walter's Carving Block? I've read some good stuff
about it, but surfing the web and contacting some of the
companies has come up empty.
As always, any help appreciated :-)

MJ Stamps used to sell it (I think), but here's the address for Uncle
Walter himself in MA:
Uncle Walter's Carving Material
Durasol Corporation, Walter H. Israel, 1 Oakland street, Ambesbury,
Mass 01913
(508) 388-2020
Hey, he may even send you some freebies like an eyeglass cleaner that
looks like a pen, some denture pads, some embossing powder and Faith's
little miracle (if you do get the latter 2, send 'em on to me!) with
your request or order. I don't have the order info handy though. Sorry
:)

I got all those freebies with mine too LOL
Sorry, I already gave the dye ink embossing powder away (what a joke---but the
rest of the stuff seems ok)
I believe he's charging $25 for a 9x12 sheet.

Graham,
You are too funny! Faith's Little Miracle is actually a little bag of
this special powder that you rub on paper to help prevent bits of
embossing powder from getting in places on your paper that you don't
want it to get on when you do thermal embossing of a stamped image. Oh,
I know, you're sorry you asked! I don't think it's something
letterboxers will be running out in droves to get. I wonder if you were
to get in touch with Uncle Walter himself (he's a dear man - gave me
another free sample of his carving block just for telling him I loved
his stuff!), maybe he would come up with some kind of magical powder for
letterboxers only. He seems to be a pretty inventive, guy.
Nisa :)
